Vote
Are you thinking about not voting tomorrow?
Do you think that the incumbents who represent you actually give a rip about your freedom?
Well, I've got news for you. If you don't vote, you have no right to complain.
I've got more news for you. 99% of the elected officials currently in office don't give a flying fuck for your freedom and will violate it with a big grin on their faces.
Don't believe me?
Read of the horror my friend Saratoga experienced this past weekend:
Before You Vote, Consider This
Oh, yeah, while you read about doctors, don't forget that according to the manual they use to decide if you are nuts, your interest in this blog proves you to be insane.
Giving doctors police power? Now that's insane.

"Giving doctors police power? Now that's insane."
Amen to that.
Thanks for your wonderful and supportive post, my friend.

saratoga,
I suppose that things have improved a bit. I don't think that it is so easy for husbands to have their outspoken wives lobotomized any longer, but certainly horrors still exist in the name of medicine, and there should be more of an outcry.
Perhaps your own story will help bring realization of what can happen to some people.

Hello Milliscent,
Of course we are hearing a lot about your elections here in France.
"If you don't vote, you have no right to complain."
Oh yes, the vote is the last legal weapon that we have to fight with politicians of any kind with whom we disagree!
We both agree with you 100%, Milliscent!
Saratoga, we have read your post! Very "interesting", where are we going?? Or rather where are they driving us?
Warm regards to everyone here.

One of my concerns is that politicians are only interested inpower and the will of the people is a thing of the past.

Christine & georgette,
Well, it seems that we again have divided government. That seems to work for the best, we loose whenever government is working well as it's too easy for whatever group is in power to pass their pet projects.

littlec,
I don't doubt but that you are correct. They are only interested in power.
That said, even though we are stuck with them, we can still slow them down. Just like we did last night when we cut off their funding. Mighty hard to grow government without money!
As for the will of the people, I fear that the will of the people is for ever expanding government. Virtually every one of us has some pet government program we like. Until we refuse those programs that we do like, government will continue to grow.

Dear Milliscent,
And Hello to everyone here.
You said: "Well, it seems that we again have divided government."
It happened a few times to us here, President from one side, forced to govern with a prime Minister from the opposite side, and the inverse a few years later.
Finally, it was not so bad, each one fighting to get more electors for the next elections!
And watching closely to what the other one did !
Better than full power to only one side.
Kind regards to you and all people here.

Christine & georgette,
Personally, I greatly prefer divided government. It keeps excess to a minimum in my view.

Hello Milliscent,
Yes, it's exactly what we meant (or at least tried to mean!)
For the momentWe are testing a full power government here ...It's not really the best way, at least in our opinion.
Warm regards,
Christine & georgette.

Christine & georgette,
It will be very interesting to see how things change when the Republicans are seated in the House come January.
