Sex Perverts In Seattle

This week the religious/political group, The Family Policy Institute of Washington released a study condemning adult erotica and calling for additional governmental regulation of adult erotic expression.

As everyone who reads here must know by now, I've always been a regular Republican voter. Unfortunately though folks seeking an American Theocracy are growing ever stronger within the Republican Party. People and groups who would not think twice about jailing me for writing this blog, and jailing you for reading it. Others have called such people and groups the American Taliban, and I don't think that is very far from the truth.

I fear that if their power continues to grow in the GOP I'll have to begin voting Democratic, which would be a sad day indeed. I do fear that the party of Reagan and Goldwater is on its deathbed being replaced by a theocratic movement they could have never embraced.

Government intervention whether in the financial sector or the adult erotic sector is too much...we need a new party...a TEA Party, I dont care what we call it...a coalition of people with fiscally conservative values who adore protecting this country against its enemies and keeping the government out of our lives....the democrats and the republicans are about one and the same, and there are as many "anti smut" democrats as there are republicans.....

Hi Ms. Milliscent,

It's a very serious issue, I know. But America is just too fucked up to fix. Americans never seem to learn. I guess the whole place is going to have to go to the dogs before they ask themselves whatever happened.

There's a warm spot in my Democratic hotbed that you are more than welcomed in.

Respectfully,

bdenied,

Agreed, both the Democrats and the Republicans are disasters now. I don't know that we need a new party, certainly the Libertarian Party fits the bill, but receives no support.

I think that perhaps it would be better for fiscally conservative, socially liberal people to take over one of the existing major parties.

In any event, you are right, we need new people, not this same old bunch of tyrants.

Alas though, I do think that the smut side of life is much better under the democrats. While I think you are right that loads of them are against us, I also think that they are too nervous about scaring off their voters to do anything about it.

scott,

I am almost as pessimistic as you, but not quite. I still believe that there is time to fix the nightmare leaders from both parties have led us into.

Alas, I do think that I would have to welcome you to my Republican bed, while I may complain a lot about the GOP, I still have some hope for them.
