Uniquely Relaxing In Seattle
It seems that as a society we worry an awful lot about our health these days. Certainly the television news likes to cram our brains full of the latest medical study, funny how so many of those studies contradict each other.
I wonder if red wine is good for me today, or if that was yesterday? Oh well, I'm getting away from my point.
My point is that I think it is fairly easy to ensure ones health. Don't eat too much, get some exercise, don't become addicted to tobacco, alcohol, or other drugs. Most folks agree with those three I think.
There is though, one more in my view, something that we often don't think enough about.
Relaxation.
Stress is a killer, and we all need ways to rid ourselves of it.
Relaxing ones mind and body for an hour a day can I think work wonders for ones health and sense of wellbeing.
My grandfather who's pushing 100 does it with a pipe or a cigar, some folks meditate, others kick back in a hot tub. Still others, my very favorite people in this whole world, come to see me! What better way to forget everything, to leave the world behind than to spend some time begging at my heels?
I hope that the next time you are stressed, feel the need for some deep relaxation, desire to get away from it all, you will think of me!

Bon jour beautiful Mistress, my Owner,
You forget that there is one addiction that is not only good for one, but perfectly natural, and one i must admit having ... my addiction to one particular sinfully seductive Mistress.
Yours always,

Dear Lady,
I agree with the ongoing paranoia about health issues. We need to use our intelligence to filter some of the nonsense from all the advertisements, and the wise warnings from the government.
My real concern is when a catastrophic illness, or even a relatively non-lethal breaking of a bone occurs. It can bankrupt one with or without insurance. The reason for the tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars for the service of this illness is because the providers collect from those who can pay, to offset those who cannot pay. Add to that our litiginous society's individuals, we have a real problem.
The providers are already forced to pay for those who have no chance of paying, as in the use of emergency rooms by illegals and the indigent.
Alas, this is what the current administration advocates as "universal health care", which, of course, will make a bad situation worse. We need to look at healh and health care from a different perspective.

Susan's pet,
I think that you point out the problems with our current health care system very well.
I would add to it government mandates on what insurance must cover.
Here in Washington we have I think just under 50 such mandates, most of them complete nonsense.
For example, why should I be forced to purchase insurance that covers pregnancy given that I have no intention to ever have a child. Likewise, down the line almost 50 times.
I could buy my insurance a good deal cheaper if it didn't have to cover a bunch of things I'll never want or use.
Like you, I agree that government run health care will be much worse than what we have now, and I hope that such a 'solution' can be avoided.
