An Icy Dominatrix, Frozen In Seattle
I awoke this morning to a very unusual sight. The river in front of my house is completely frozen over. Bank to bank it is ice. I never thought that I would see such a thing in this normally temperate climate, but alas it is so.
I did of course take a picture or two, for I imagine that when I tell the story in the future no one will believe it.
I also called a friend who has spent his life in this little area; he says that he has only seen the river do this once before, when he was a young child.
The good news however is that I think I missed the brunt of last nights storm. It is cold of course, but unlike the lowlands we received very little snow and our roads remain easily passable. I remain amazed at how much better off we continue to be here in the mountains than folks are in the middle of our Puget Sound cities where travel seems very difficult indeed.
